What is the first step to us working together?

The first step to working with us is a brief, complimentary phone consultation during which we will discuss logistics (e.g. scheduling, fee, insurance) as well as the reasons that are bringing you to therapy. It’s important you hear a voice over the phone to determine whether you think you and your psychologist are a good fit!

We will then schedule a consultation appointment either in-person at one of our offices or through a telehealth platform.

How do I submit payment?

We accept all major credit cards, checks, and cash.

Do you offer sliding scale fees for therapy sessions?

Yes. We are committed to serving the community and to making care accessible and therefore offer sliding scale fees based on individual needs as well as support patients in making use of out-of-network benefits.

Do you take insurance?

We are now in-network with Aetna, and Aetna members can use their in-network benefits for sessions with our clinicians. If you have Aetna and would like help understanding your coverage, we can assist you in verifying benefits and clarifying expected costs.

For all other insurance plans, Uptown Downtown Psychotherapy is an out-of-network provider. However, many of our patients successfully use their out-of-network benefits to receive partial reimbursement for therapy. We’re glad to help you navigate this process—providing the necessary documentation, assisting with claim submission, and offering consultation for any insurance-related questions. We understand that insurance can be confusing, and we’re here to make it easier.

Do you offer remote or online therapy?

We offer remote therapy on a case-by-case basis for individuals whose work or family life make in-person sessions inaccessible, who are living abroad, or traveling frequently and therefore have no access to face-to-face treatment.

Do you offer clinical supervision?

We have experience as supervisors, consultants, and educators in a variety of settings. We are available for ongoing clinical supervision and consultation, as well as educational programming for clinicians and the community.
