“When Does This Get Easier?” In-Person Process Group for Teens
Led by experienced group facilitator Julie Sahlein, LCSW-R, this process group is open to adolescents aged 14-17. The themes of discussion flow organically from members’ daily lives, including struggles with depression and anxiety, dealing with divorce/family conflict, navigating learning disabilities and/or academic pressure, exploring identity questions and working through challenges with peers. In an environment that is supportive and respectful, group members are challenged to reassess coping strategies or relational styles that may be outdated. Each group session offers opportunities for teens to develop new ways of relating to peers and to themselves. Over time, treatment outcomes include strengthened observing egos, decrease in mood symptoms and improved relational skills.
This group is led by Julie Sahlein, LCSW-R and meets in-person on Mondays from 4:30-5:45pm in NOMAD (576 5th Ave). Open to all genders. Rate: $90/session.
