Anthony Marino, PhD

Dr. Anthony Marino is a psychologist who provides evaluation and psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. He is particularly attuned to the dynamics of sexual and gender and is experienced with supporting LGBTQ+ individuals in exploring and affirming their sense of self. He helps people navigate challenges related to mood disorders, anxiety and trauma as well as identity, self-esteem, intimacy, shame, grief, and life transitions. His approach is designed to meet each person where they are and is rooted in the belief that therapy can be a powerful process of understanding oneself more deeply and finding new ways forward.

Dr. Marino’s work is grounded in contemporary psychodynamic theory, with a strong emphasis on the influence of early experiences on our emotional lives and relationships. His clinical experience spans forensic inpatient units, hospitals, and community clinics, where he provided individual and group therapy to teens and adults facing mood and anxiety disorders, PTSD, and difficulties related to personality functioning. He also provided couples and family therapy in outpatient settings. These varied clinical experiences have deepened his appreciation for the complexities of the human condition. Dr. Marino’s style is warm, deliberate, and collaborative, as he is committed to building a trusting therapeutic relationships in which patients can explore their internal world with safety and honesty.

Dr. Marino earned his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The George Washington University and completed his predoctoral internship at Lenox Hill Hospital.
