Living Beyond Pain

Chronic pain affects more than just the body—it touches every part of life. Living Beyond Pain is a virtual 8-week psychotherapy group designed to help adults navigate the emotional and physical challenges of ongoing pain through education, emotional exploration, and support.

Grounded in Emotion Awareness and Expression Therapy (EAET), this group integrates both psychological and physical understanding of pain. Participants will learn about the mind-body connection, explore how emotions influence pain, and develop practical tools to improve daily functioning and overall well-being.

Through guided discussions, reflection, and shared experience, members will:

  • Understand the science of pain and the role of the nervous system

  • Explore emotions and life experiences that may intensify pain

  • Practice techniques for emotional expression, body awareness, and self-compassion

  • Connect with others who understand the invisible challenges of chronic pain

Facilitated by a licensed psychologist with expertise in both psychology and physical therapy, this group offers a safe, compassionate space to begin healing—beyond the pain itself.

The group is led by Lauren McGratty, PhD and meets virtually - based on client availability. Rate: $100/session (sliding scale available).
